CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND SPICE TEA

Top of the morning!! Christmas is this Monday!! Are you ready? Tell me in the comments below do you go all out with decorations and gifts? Or do you keep it simple? Can't wait to read how you do Christmas.

This year my husband and I have decided to keep it simple. Spread the love of God and shower those who don't have with many blessings. I know just seeing the Christmas lights gets me all excited. It's like nonstop sparkles for me as well as glitter. Then I bring out all my wonderful spice flavored teas. I will have to share some of my favorite Christmas teas but back to the point of this blog.

Think about this: are you shinning bright on a daily bases or only sometimes and that even depends on how you feel? I believe we should shine bright or even brighter than the Christmas lights. God asked us to be the light of the world. Are we bringing that light to those who don't know who God is or how great God can be in their lives? I know it's a lot to think about but we have to shine bright in a world that is filled with darkness. If you know someone that is sad or not happy with their life, you can be that special light. Meaning just sharing the love and giving them an encouraging word but most of all telling a person about the good news. We can't let our light go dim and surely not in this day and time. Now for this amazing glitter that we can add to our shining light. It's just taking it a step further in allowing our lights to shine but also being generous. This is helping when a person is in need not just telling them things will be okay but really offering assistance. Now that's real glitter! Can you just see how your light is shining then a person tells you they are low on gas or even food, and you add that glitter. Yes honey, you give what you can just to help or even find others to even help to meet that need. That glitter will stay on them even when they can't see a bright light later on in their life or even that day. The glitter as you know doesn't go away very easily. Even after you wipe down the table or even sweep the floor you still find glitter on your face or in your hair! It doesn't go away really easy and you keep finding traces of it for days. We should be the same way when we impact someone's life and shine bright with our light and then leave some type of glitter (be generous) with that person.

The spice tea that I do love especially orange spice by Tazo (BEST TEA EVER). This tea doesn't need anything added to it not even honey. Yes, I said it, not even honey because it has such a natural flavor and the spices are so rich. I love to drink it hot or even room tea it's just that good. For our lives we have to have some spice to it right? I mean in our spiritual walk (let's not go wild here) hahaha! Seriously, in our spiritual walk you can add spice, which would be our salt. If we lose our salt flavor only means we have stopped sharing the Word of God to others. The spice we have to share is on a daily bases. This doesn't mean you have to always say where a scripture is from or speak in the old English with the Thee's and Thy's. Just speak positive and if you understand what the scripture is saying and you can explain it then go for it. When you stop sharing about God and His goodness your spice is now gone. Don't lose your spice and your spice doesn't have to be too much. I mean don't always try to force your spice on someone or try to make someone to understand your spice. Remember that's not your job, your job is to share and allow Holy Spirit to do the rest. Everyone will not like your spice nor how you give it.

Overall you should nevertheless be that sparkling light and the spice of the Good News. Don't just celebrate and enjoy the beautiful Christmas lights and all that wonderful glitter for your natural life but allow it to overflow to your spiritual life.

P.S. I love orange spice and you should share with me in the comments your favorite spice tea. Also go to www.serenityconference.weebly.com and come and hangout with me next June!

Matthew 5:13-16 NLT You are the salt of the earth. But w/hat good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
